CAPITOL VIEW ARTS
MISSION STATEMENT
Capitol View Arts (CVA) is dedicated to preserving and advancing the cultural legacy of Austin’s historic Black communities through artist-centered programming and community-driven arts experiences. Rooted in the traditions that shaped the city’s early music and cultural landscape—including the legacy of the Chitlin’ Circuit and neighborhood venues that nurtured generations of talent—CVA honors the artists and spaces that helped define Austin as the Live Music Capital of the World.

Our work connects history to the present by providing meaningful opportunities for musicians, storytellers, and creatives to perform, collaborate, and grow. Through live performances, educational workshops, youth engagement, and heritage events, CVA supports working artists while creating welcoming spaces where community, culture, and creativity thrive.

As rising costs and rapid change threaten the survival of historic cultural spaces, your support is essential. Contributions help sustain programming, compensate artists fairly, preserve historic venues, and ensure that these stories and traditions remain accessible to future generations.
By investing in Capitol View Arts, you invest in Austin’s cultural history—and in the artists who continue to shape its future.
